Wine Making Notes:
The 2014 – SKYHARP CELLARS- Grand Vin Reserve is about balance and complexity from Napa Valley. This Red Blend features a base of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in St. Helena and Calistoga, Ca. Much like northern Napa Valley, these grapes share a robust earthy taste with shimmers of cedar. The wine opens with aromas of bright black currant, and raspberry. On the palate the addition of Syrah and Zinfandel grapes adds flavors of espresso and pepper.
2014 was one of the driest on records in the early beginning of the year, and as the vines emerged, there was strength in the buds and berry size. The season stayed pretty much perfect all year, that lead to a quality 2014 harvest.
SKYHARP CELLARS specializes in craft wine blends from renowned vineyards in each of the core California growing regions. Nevada Smith, Proprietor, understands that great wine begins in the vineyards and is enhanced in the cellars.
